Sleep School Courses
The Florida
Sleep School offers
students a learning experience
unlike any other school of
polysomnography. Not only does
the school have a very low teacher-to-student
ratio, the courses have also been carefully
designed to include a mix of classroom instruction
with hands-on experience.
The courses are:
Polysomnography I & II 14-Day
Introductory Course is a comprehensive
14-day course, covering 9 areas of instruction,
encompassing over 100 hours of intensive training
in polysomnography. The course includes 55
hours of didactic instruction, 41.5 hours
of practical/interaction instruction,
a mid-point examination with feedback and
a final examination. The A-STEP Course includes:
Fundamentals of Sleep Technology -
5-Day Courseis designed for technologists
who desire a strong, comprehensive background
as they enter the field of sleep medicine
technology. Entry-level students completing
the course will be able to work in a clinical
environment with minimal orientation while
undergoing on-the-job training. This strong
background will enable the technologist to
be well positioned to succeed as a Polysomnographic
trainee.
Advanced Clinical Polysomnography
- 5-Day Course is well-suited
for technologists who are preparing to take
the registry examination. The information
taught in this course will assist the technologist
in advancing their knowledge in areas of polysomnography
in which they are less likely to be well-trained
and in which there is less exposure in the
day-to-day clinical environment. Course content
includes:
PSG Record Scoring and Data Interpretation
- 3-Day Course is specifically designed
for both physicians and technologists who
are preparing for board examinations. The
course will include hands-on record review
for normal and abnormal studies. At the end
of this course, the student will be able to
accurately and confidently score all parameters
in PSG recordings, and will be able to interpret
the findings and write precise technical and
physician reports. |
